I instruct at West Valley Flying Club,
but I am also available on an independent basis.
I am a CFI because I find working with people to help them achieve their goals
to be very rewarding.
I strive to provide excellent, safe, and cost effective instruction.
I fly a
variety of makes and models,
ranging from the most popular aircraft from
to more advanced or specialized aircraft from those manufactures as well as from
Pilatus, and others.
I am a full-time instructor regularly available 5 days a week, including weekends
(Wednesday and Thursday are normally my days off).
WVFC members may use Schedule Master
for scheduling or to check my availability.
If needed, I can often adjust my schedule to accomodate special requests, such as
professional pilot services, adventure flights, long cross-countries, ferry flights, factory pickups, special events, etc.
Please contact me before scheduling any of the following:
- You are a new client (this would be our first session together)
- Night flight
- Before 0800 or after 1800
- Special requests (as mentioned above)
NB: Occasionally I may need to reschedule a session due to my professional pilot obligations or other logistics.
In these situations I try to give as much notice as possible, but sometimes advanced notice is limited.
Hourly Instruction Rates and Payment:
My rate is $90/hr.
I offer a $5/hr discount for a 10-hour pre-paid ($850) block paid by check (or cash).
When paying by the hour I greatly prefer check or cash, but I can accept
credit cards, Apple Pay, Android Pay, and Square Cash.
Payment is due at the conclusion of each session.
Professional Pilot Services Rates:
Due to scheduling demands and on-call/off-site nature of most pro pilot flights
Professional Pilot services are typically billed at the daily rate of $750, plus expenses.
Please contact me to discuss special situations.
Cancellation and Notification Policy:
If you need to cancel a given appointment please give me as much notice as possible via
email, TXT, cell phone, or some combination thereof.
No-show appointments, and appointments canceled with less than 24 hours notice,
will be billed for the time as scheduled.
Training typically takes place regardless of weather unless we explicitly agree otherwise
(typically via TXT or phone just prior to the session).
If the weather is not good enough to fly
we will usually use the time to cover ground instruction.
